Our first event of every year is all about celebrating the beginning of Spring! The Farmland is coming to life with blossom growing on the trees and the start of our own produce springing up from the ground.
The Shop & Cafe was full of local crafters offering beautiful crafts, jewellery, decopatch, knitting and textiles! There were hot drinks flowing throughout the cafe as well as delicious hot cross buns by our supplier, Communibakes.
During this event, we had two workshops available to learn more about our ethical practices and permaculture.
Spring Cleaning Workshop
A wonderful volunteer gave her time to deliver this workshop in aid of raising awareness of the Farm and raising some funds too. The aim of the course was to learn about making your own natural cleaning products which are all available to buy from our refill station in the Shop. The workshop looked at the basic science behind natural cleaning, the products required, and then to make their own!
One participant of the workshop said,
“What a useful and practical workshop, I loved that I could take things home afterwards. It was my first time at the Farm and it feels like a special place.”
Plan Your Vegetable Garden
Our Volunteer Lead led a permaculture workshop focused on growing vegetables in your own back garden, starting from scratch! We looked at assessing the growing area, planning when and how to sow seeds and planting out seedlings. Everyone left the day with their own personalised action plan for growing their own vegetables at home!
