We have a rota for getting the animals up in the morning and putting them away in the evening.
Would you like to help?
The morning round
Some time around 6.30am it’s time to get the animals out. Luna our cat follows you round as you let the geese, ducks and chickens out. You make sure they have feed and that the night-time manure is covered over with sawdust.
You feed Luna. You wash the eggs.
You feel calm and peaceful and ready for the day – it’s a great experience.
The evening round
Some time around 8pm you arrive at the farm and Luna our cat is waiting for you. Together, you go and put the geese away, the ducks away and shut the door on the chicken houses (they’ve already put themselves away!).
You give Luna her tea. You check the electric fence is on and the polytunnel is shut.
You watch the light fading in the sky and go home relaxed and happy. All is well on the farm.
